Overview
micro1 seeks experienced finance professionals to construct realistic work environments that test how well AI agents handle complex financial tasks. You will design multi-step scenarios in FP&A, corporate finance, valuation, and financial modeling, then use agentic AI tools to produce deliverables and evaluation criteria. This contract role pays $60–$120/hr, requires at least 10 hours per week (20+ preferred), and is remote with a preference for US/Canada, though UK and Latin America candidates are also considered. Each task takes about 3 hours after an initial 15-hour environment development phase, and estimates include agent execution time.
What You'll Do7
- Create realistic finance settings complete with business context, financial data, reference documents, and working files.
- Design multi-step tasks that cover FP&A, corporate finance, valuation, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Use agentic AI tools to build models, analyses, and supporting deliverables.
- Write clear task instructions and objective evaluation criteria for each scenario.
- Independently verify the quality of AI-generated materials and ensure they meet professional standards.
- Collaborate with the micro1 team to refine tasks based on feedback and testing.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy across all deliverables and evaluation rubrics.
Requirements7
- 5+ years of professional experience in FP&A, corporate finance, valuation, or financial modeling.
- Direct ownership of substantive financial models, analyses, and business deliverables.
- Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Claude Cowork for substantive work. General chatbot use alone is insufficient.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting methods, and valuation techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple tasks.
- Excellent written communication skills for creating task instructions and evaluation criteria.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, realistic work products.
Who Should Apply
Finance professionals with at least five years in FP&A, corporate finance, valuation, or financial modeling who have directly owned complex models and deliverables. You should also have practical experience using agentic AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex for substantive work, not just casual chatbot interactions. Candidates from leading banks, private equity firms, or Fortune 500 finance teams are a plus.
