Listing checked October 25, 2026 · pay as published by micro1
Overview
micro1 is hiring finance and accounting practitioners to design benchmark tasks that test what AI systems can do. You will turn real workflows like FP&A analysis, financial reporting, and reconciliations into multi-step tasks with objective grading criteria. This is a project-based, fully remote role paid per approved task, with tasks taking about 10 hours each. No prior AI experience is needed; your domain expertise is what matters.
What You'll Do6
- 1Create multi-step finance and accounting tasks based on real work such as FP&A analysis, financial reporting, audit procedures, and reconciliations.
- 2Define clear, objective grading criteria so that two qualified reviewers would reach the same verdict on the same output.
- 3Design tasks that require judgment, not just lookup, where the correct answer depends on reading the materials correctly.
- 4Build or source supporting materials for each task, including spreadsheets, GL extracts, financial statements, and policy documents.
- 5Identify tasks that are ambiguous or cannot be graded objectively and flag them instead of submitting them.
- 6Deliver approved tasks on schedule and at the required quality level.
Requirements6
- 15+ years of hands-on responsibility in FP&A, financial reporting, audit, reconciliations, or accounting, with direct ownership of the work.
- 2Experience creating or applying structured review standards such as audit programs, review checklists, close checklists, grading rubrics, or training assessments.
- 3Strong Excel skills and the ability to reason across multiple documents at once.
- 4Strong written English (B2 advanced or C1 minimum).
- 5CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
- 6AI or LLM evaluation experience is a plus, but not required.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate has at least five years of direct ownership in FP&A, financial reporting, audit, or reconciliations, and has built or applied review checklists, audit programs, or grading rubrics. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work across multiple documents are essential. A CPA or similar certification is a plus, but not required.

AfterQuery
VerifiedFinance Expert - Remote AI Response Review
AfterQuery supplies AI labs with expert-written material, and this bench of finance practitioners creates the scenarios that models get tested against. You draw on your own client work to write problems such as building a financial plan, preparing an individual return, restructuring debt or sizing up a retirement position, then judge how a model handles the same case. AI evaluation sits at the center of the job: you mark where reasoning slips, where a figure lands wrong and where guidance would fail a real client. Volume has no ceiling and the schedule stays in your hands, with task criteria and support shared in the project chat after onboarding.

Mercor
VerifiedFinance Domain Expert — AI Training & Evaluation
A leading AI lab's GenAI team needs a senior finance practitioner to judge and improve how frontier models handle real financial work. The role involves reviewing finance tasks and model outputs, writing instruction specs and golden solutions, and building benchmarks that measure model progress. This is a full-time W-2 position through Cincinnatus LLC, placed inside the client's own tools and workflows. The work is hybrid in the Bay Area, with on-site collaboration required several days each week.

Mercor
VerifiedFinance Expert - Remote AI Evaluation Part-Time
Mercor keeps a standing pool of finance professionals who help grade and guide frontier AI models on financial reasoning. The work leans on judgment: you write problems from your own practice, attach the filings, assumptions, and constraints, then supply the reference answer a model gets measured against. You also review model output for accounting treatment, test valuation assumptions against sensitivity checks, and flag work that looks clean but would fail disclosure or audit review. Specialties include accounting, auditing, corporate finance, investment banking, asset management, wealth management, insurance, and actuarial science. Rates sit between $60 and $180 an hour, set per project by scope and depth.

SME Careers
VerifiedFinance & Accounting Specialist (Remote) Rubric Design
Remote, hourly contractor role for a Finance & Accounting SME focused on rubric design, with hands-on work in excel and sql. You will craft realistic finance tasks and evaluate AI-driven outputs using precise criteria and professional judgment, shaping how complex financial work is assessed. Rubric design sits at the core as you specify calculations, assumptions, materiality, and reasoning across domains like accounting, corporate finance, and valuation. You will build reference content and assessment materials to support RLHF and SFT training for leading AI models.

micro1
VerifiedAccountant Auditor for Financial Reporting and Audit Roles
micro1 is hiring Accountant / Auditors to support a client project centered on financial oversight and compliance. Your day-to-day work will involve reviewing financial statements, building models in Excel, and documenting audit procedures. The output you produce will help train next-generation AI systems, so your domain knowledge in GAAP/IFRS and tax compliance directly shapes how models learn and reason. No AI background is needed. This is a remote contractor role for finance professionals who want to apply their practical expertise to technology.

Turing
VerifiedFinance Expert (US based)
Turing seeks finance experts to evaluate and improve AI model performance in areas like capital markets, portfolio management, and investment banking. The work centers on analyzing LLM outputs, building rubrics for finance-specific assessments, and partnering with AI researchers to refine evaluation methods. No prior AI experience is required, and the engagement is fully remote with 10 to 30 flexible hours per week. Freelancers can expect a one-month project with possible extension.
