Overview

Remote Defense recruiting specialist focused on cleared government work. Expect to work with federal civilians, veterans, and military-connected professionals, using ClearanceJobs and ClearedJobs.net alongside military transition networks to connect with top talent.

What You'll Do5

  • 1Lead full-cycle recruiting for a range of cleared roles, handling sourcing, evaluation, and closing across various locations and clearance domains.
  • 2Create and maintain durable pipelines of security-cleared candidates, including federal civilians, officers, veterans, and veterans with government experience.
  • 3Engage candidates through official channels like ClearanceJobs and ClearedJobs.net and via military networks such as SkillBridge, TAP, and Hiring Our Heroes.
  • 4Verify clearance status, eligibility, and level in coordination with FSOs and customer security offices, using self-reported data as an initial screen.
  • 5Translate military experience into job fit by interpreting MOS/rate and service history to build rapport with transitioning service members and veterans.

Requirements8

  • 15–8 years in full-cycle recruiting with substantial experience in cleared defense or GovCon talent acquisition
  • 2Proven track record placing security-cleared professionals using cleared talent pools and private sourcing channels
  • 3Solid understanding of U.S. security clearances (Secret, TS, TS/SCI, poly) and compliance, including reactivation windows and reciprocity
  • 4Ability to interpret military backgrounds (MOS/rate and service history) and communicate credibly with transitioning service members
  • 5Experience coordinating clearance verification with FSOs or security offices and managing candidate data with privacy in mind
  • 6Strong sourcing, screening, and stakeholder-management skills for hard-to-fill, location-specific cleared roles
  • 7Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong organizational and metrics-focused work habits
  • 8U.S.-based recruitment professional with relevant regulatory awareness

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in cleared defense or GovCon and a proven ability to place security-cleared talent. They are comfortable using federal compliance rules and cleared channels like ClearanceJobs to build candidate pipelines. This role may not be a good fit for someone without security clearance knowledge, or someone who hasn’t worked with FSOs or government-facing hiring. Common fit issues include limited experience with clearance verification workflows or weak experience in military-to-civilian translation of qualifications.
