Overview

AfterQuery, a YC-backed startup, needs customer service specialists to build the training material that teaches AI models how to handle real support conversations. You will write challenging case studies and questions covering conflict resolution, de-escalation, complaint handling and policy interpretation, then judge how well a model answers them. A team of support and technical experts works alongside you to calibrate difficulty so each item stays demanding and instructive. The work runs remote and asynchronous, so you set your own hours around the $55/hr engagement.

What You'll Do7

  • Write customer service questions and case studies that push AI models on topics such as product troubleshooting, empathy, complaint handling and omnichannel support.
  • Review model answers and score them against accepted support practice and industry standards.
  • Give detailed written feedback that pinpoints where a response falls short on accuracy or tone.
  • Work with support specialists and technical staff to adjust question difficulty and keep the content both hard and useful.
  • Cover a spread of support scenarios, from policy interpretation to conflict resolution and de-escalation.
  • Test whether a model can carry a customer through a full interaction and reach a sensible outcome.
  • Flag weak or ambiguous items and suggest concrete fixes.

Requirements7

  • High school diploma or equivalent. An associate or bachelor's degree stands out.
  • Hands-on history as a customer service representative with solid grasp of support operations and service best practices.
  • Strong analytical ability plus clear writing and speaking, with close attention to detail.
  • Several years in customer service, ideally spanning more than one industry and channel such as phone, email, chat, social or in person.
  • Background in support training, quality assurance or customer experience programs helps.
  • Exposure to CRM systems, escalation management or retention work is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI or tech-driven support tools is welcome but not required.

Who Should Apply

Seasoned support reps who can explain why a given reply works or fails, and who write with precision. Several years across multiple channels, plus any QA, training or escalation background, puts you in strong shape for this one.

Salary Insight

$55.00/hr is the stated rate, well above typical frontline support pay and in line with specialist or QA-level work. The listing leaves weekly hours open, so expect to agree on scope before you commit.
