Overview

Remote, hourly contract for a Compliance and Regulatory SME focused on AI training data. You will review AI-generated compliance outputs and craft expert content such as policies, control descriptions, monitoring plans, and risk assessments. Your assessments anchor regulatory interpretation in practical controls and clear documentation, evaluated against defensible criteria. Expect collaboration across time zones, using GRC tooling, privacy concepts and ISO-style controls to ground your work.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Draft AI training prompts and gold-standard outputs, including policies, control descriptions, monitoring plans, risk assessments, and regulatory summaries.
  • 2Evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy, defensibility, clarity, and practical usefulness using a predefined rubric.
  • 3Identify and flag unsafe or noncompliant guidance, bias, and regulatory misinterpretations across varied scenarios.
  • 4Provide precise written explanations and policy content that illustrate correct regulatory approaches and control narratives.
  • 5Deliver targeted feedback to guide model improvements and align outputs with regulatory standards.
  • 6Coordinate with legal, privacy, and product teams to ensure alignment with regulatory change management and audit readiness practices.

Requirements10

  • 1bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, risk/compliance, public policy or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 25+ years in compliance and/or regulatory roles across regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, tech/privacy, insurance, energy)
  • 3Strong command of risk-based compliance programs, control design, monitoring and testing, issue management, remediation tracking, and documentation standards
  • 4Experience translating regulations into policies, procedures, training, and operational controls
  • 5Familiarity with frameworks and concepts such as GRC tooling, ISO-style controls, SOC 2 awareness, SOX awareness, AML/KYC basics, and privacy concepts (GDPR/CCPA)
  • 6Excellent judgment to identify missing assumptions and false certainty in regulatory guidance; minimum C1 English proficiency
  • 7Strong writing skills to produce clear, defensible documentation (policies, SOPs, control narratives, risk assessments)
  • 8Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly remote contractor workflow across time zones
  • 9Professional certifications (CRCMP, CAMS, CCEP, CIPP/E, CISA, CIA, CRISC) are a plus
  • 10Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, compliance QA, audit/regulatory exams support, or policy editorial work is strongly preferred

Who Should Apply

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in compliance or regulatory roles and a track record translating regulations into practical controls. You thrive in a remote, hourly contractor setting and can produce clear, defensible documentation. You should be comfortable evaluating AI-generated outputs for regulatory alignment and bias. Candidates with limited AI training experience or without experience in regulated industries may score lower. Those who struggle with English proficiency or writing complex regulatory content are unlikely to fit this role.
