Overview
Mercor seeks Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT) to support an AI research lab building clinical systems for prior authorization workflows. You will answer medication questions from patient context and labelling guidance, then judge AI responses for clinical accuracy, medication safety, clarity, and evidence. The project also asks you to correct weak answers, write structured annotations, and flag cases with conflicting guidance or unclear context. Work centers on medication history, dosing, contraindications, drug interactions, and pharmacy operations.
What You'll Do8
- Answer medication questions using patient context, source documents, and labelling guidance.
- Score AI responses for clinical accuracy, safety, clarity, completeness, and evidence support.
- Rewrite incorrect or incomplete AI answers and add structured annotations with written feedback.
- Flag cases with thin evidence, conflicting guidance, unclear clinical context, or patient safety risk.
- Apply project rubrics and quality standards in every review.
- Join calibration sessions and adjust your work after feedback.
- Review topics such as medication history, prior authorization rules, dosing, contraindications, and drug interactions.
- Escalate safety-critical or ambiguous cases to the right project contact.
Requirements8
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential or comparable pharmacy technician experience.
- Hands-on work with medications, prescriptions, pharmacy operations, and prior authorization workflows.
- Solid grasp of medication safety, drug interactions, and pharmacy best practices.
- Clear written communication and close attention to detail.
- Comfort with structured annotation guidelines and quality rubrics.
- Availability for 30 to 40 hours per week for the project.
- Preferred: prior authorization, specialty pharmacy, medication access programs, or 340B experience.
- Preferred: work in Epic, Cerner, or another EHR system, plus clinical QA or AI evaluation exposure.
Who Should Apply
Certified Pharmacy Technicians with hands-on prior authorization and medication management experience fit this project best. The role suits someone who can read clinical context, spot drug interaction or dosing issues, and write clear annotations under a shared rubric.
Salary Insight
The role pays $35.00 per hour. For US CPhT project work tied to AI evaluation, that rate sits at the higher end for technicians who bring prior authorization or specialty pharmacy experience. Ask Mercor about expected weekly hours and project length before you commit.
Application tip
In your application, name your CPhT credential, list the EHR systems you use, and describe one prior authorization case where you caught a drug interaction, dosing issue, or missing documentation. Use the same terms as the posting: medication history, prior authorization, contraindications, and drug interactions.
