Overview

Handshake AI brings licensed pharmacists into AI research to sharpen how models handle clinical pharmacy reasoning. You draw on real practice experience, from medication therapy management to drug interaction screening and dose verification, and use it to judge what a model produces. Project opportunities open through the year across different specialty areas, and each one runs on your own schedule with no hour minimum. The work sits alongside your current role rather than replacing it.

What You'll Do7

  • Build expert tasks that today's top models cannot solve, drawn from real workflows such as medication review, interaction screening, dose verification, therapeutic selection, and patient counseling.
  • Assess model answers for clinical accuracy, patient safety, and fit with current pharmacy practice and treatment guidelines.
  • Write structured feedback that pinpoints the error and shows what a practicing pharmacist would answer instead.
  • Flag unsafe dosing, contraindications, and interaction risks that the model misses.
  • Shape tasks around your own setting, whether community, inpatient, ambulatory, or a specialty area.
  • Set your own hours and complete tasks asynchronously, with no weekly minimum.
  • Hold submissions to the standards of your license and current evidence.

Requirements7

  • Completed PharmD or an equivalent doctoral pharmacy degree.
  • An active pharmacist license, or eligibility for licensure.
  • Working depth in at least one area: community or retail pharmacy, hospital or inpatient clinical pharmacy, ambulatory care or medication therapy management, pharmacology, toxicology, or drug information, or a specialty such as oncology, infectious disease, critical care, or pediatrics.
  • US work authorization.
  • Clear written English and close attention to detail.
  • Skill at breaking down complex pharmacy and pharmacology concepts into plain explanation.
  • Comfort operating alone in a remote, asynchronous setup.

Who Should Apply

Licensed pharmacists who still practice and want a flexible project on the side. The strongest fit brings depth in one clinical area plus the writing skill to explain a dosing or interaction problem step by step.

Salary Insight

$130.00 per hour. That figure runs well above standard pharmacist pay and reflects the specialist judgment this review work demands. Pay applies to accepted project tasks, and available hours move with project flow.

Application tip

List the practice settings and specialty areas you have worked in, along with any board certification such as BCPS, BCOP, or BCIDP. Note experience with EHRs, drug interaction databases, or clinical decision support tools, since the posting treats that background as a strength.
