Overview

Remote CAM programming contractor role focused on building advanced Fusion 360 CAM toolpaths for 3, 4, and 5‑axis milling and turning. You’ll craft precise toolpaths for metals and plastics, verify them with simulations, and document setups and strategies for downstream teams. Your work contributes to training next‑gen AI systems by providing high‑quality, real‑world CAM input. A strong background in CAM and post‑processor tuning is essential, while AI experience is not required.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Develop precise CAM toolpaths in Autodesk Fusion 360 for multi‑axis CNC operations (3, 4, 5 axis)
  • 2Program complex milling and turning geometries across metals and plastics with attention to material, tolerance, and machine limits
  • 3Simulate and validate toolpaths to prevent collisions, gouges, and long cycle times
  • 4Tune and document post‑processors for machines such as Haas and Makera
  • 5Create setup sheets, tool lists, and strategy guides for manufacturing teams
  • 6Produce clear CAM programming guidance and tutorials
  • 7Iterate CAM outputs based on feedback from parts inspection and first‑part results

Requirements6

  • 15+ years of hands‑on CAM programming experience with demonstrated Fusion 360 proficiency
  • 2A portfolio or samples showing multi‑axis programming and toolpath strategy
  • 3Solid understanding of GD&T, DFM principles, and post‑processor configuration
  • 4Experience programming for advanced CNC environments across aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics
  • 5Strong written and spoken English communication with high attention to detail
  • 6Experience creating or delivering CAM training content (courses, tutorials, mentoring, or online materials)

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands‑on CAM work and a proven Fusion 360 track record, plus a portfolio demonstrating multi‑axis toolpath strategies. This role suits those who enjoy documenting processes and teaching others through clear CAM guidance. It is less suitable for someone without deep Fusion 360 experience or with limited exposure to multi‑axis environments. Common fit gaps include limited post‑processor knowledge or minimal experience with GD&T and DFM principles, and candidates who lack experience communicating complex CAM concepts clearly.

Salary Insight

Pay range is $80 - $120 per hour. Pay details are discussed later in the process.
