Bilingual Writer for AI Voice: Mandarin Chinese (Taiwan)
Overview
You will speak commands into an AI assistant and evaluate its responses. This 4-week remote project with Mercor and a leading AI lab exists to refine voice-driven interaction in Traditional Mandarin Chinese. You will use your Mac to dictate emails, compose messages, request image generation, format text, or apply spreadsheet formulas. Then you will transcribe your spoken queries, rate the AI's output, and enter the data into a structured tracking sheet. Requires a Mac with an Apple Silicon chip and macOS Sequoia 15.0 or newer.
What You'll Do5
- 1Dictate messages, emails, and notes using your voice across your usual apps.
- 2Ask the assistant to generate images, adjust text formatting, apply spreadsheet logic, or condense documents.
- 3Type out accurate transcripts of what you say, then clean them up for final submission.
- 4Give each AI response a rating based on how well it understood your request.
- 5Record all task information in a structured sheet and upload any supporting audio or files to a shared drive.
Requirements5
- 1Native or near-native fluency in Traditional Mandarin Chinese; growing up in Taiwan is a plus.
- 2Enough English reading and listening skill to follow instructions without support.
- 3Personal Mac with an Apple Silicon processor (M1, M2, or M3) running macOS Sequoia 15.0 or a later version.
- 4Daily familiarity with common productivity tools like email clients, messaging apps, document editors, spreadsheets, and web browsers.
- 5Comfort with precise data entry and the habit of double-checking your own work.
Who Should Apply
The ideal fit is a native Traditional Mandarin speaker from Taiwan who uses productivity apps daily and follows written English instructions easily. You also need a Mac with Apple Silicon and macOS Sequoia installed, because that setup is non-negotiable. If you are not comfortable with meticulous data entry or reviewing your own transcripts, this project will feel tedious. Most rejections happen when candidates skip the hardware check or overstate their Mandarin proficiency. If you qualify on all fronts, this short-term contract lets you shape AI voice recognition for your language.
Salary Insight
You will be paid $24.00 per hour for your time. This rate aligns with what short-term, AI-focused language evaluation projects typically offer, especially when they require a specific Mac hardware setup. Payments are processed through Mercor's expert network.
