What You'll Do9
- 1Review AI-generated Bash scripts for correctness, safety, portability, and error handling.
- 2Provide written feedback to contributors and escalate recurring issues to ensure quality improvements.
- 3Lead trainer and QA communications on Discord about new guidelines and Bash-specific expectations.
- 4Respond to technical questions on quoting, portability, commands, permissions, and rubric interpretation.
- 5DM inactive contributors to re-engage them and track follow-ups on availability and participation.
- 6Create and maintain Bash style guides, FAQs, calibration tasks, onboarding materials, and trackers.
- 7Onboard new contributors through training calls detailing workflows and review rules.
- 8Flag unsafe scripts, destructive commands, credential exposure, or risky production guidance.
- 9Identify recurring gaps and design scalable QA processes to address them.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s or Master’s inCS/Software Engineering/IT or equivalent experience.
- 23+ years in Bash/shell scripting, Linux/Unix, automation, DevOps, CI/CD, or technical support workflows.
- 3Strong understanding of Bash fundamentals including variables, quoting, conditionals, loops, functions, pipes, redirection, exit codes, and POSIX portability.
- 4Ability to spot unsafe commands, poor quoting, non-portable syntax, missing error handling, and destructive operations.
- 5Familiarity with grep, awk, sed, find, xargs, curl, jq, cron, SSH, Git, Docker, CI/CD, and Linux package managers preferred.
- 6Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, reviewers, engineers, or QAs is a plus.
- 7Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets/Docs, trackers, dashboards, GitHub, and PM systems.
- 8Highly detail-oriented with ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, and onboarding materials.
