US Contract Attorney — Litigation
Listing checked October 24, 2026 · pay as published by Mercor
Overview
Pearson keeps a standing bench of US litigation attorneys who train frontier AI models on legal reasoning work. Apply once and your profile stays in the pool for upcoming projects as they launch, with review running on a rolling basis. Day to day you weigh two AI answers to a litigation task, pick the stronger one, and defend that call using the source documents and current US law. You also write original prompts, fact patterns, and reference answers pulled from your own practice background.
What You'll Do6
- 1Compare pairs of AI responses to litigation tasks such as research memos, pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and case strategy, then state which answer holds up better.
- 2Write short justifications that tie each judgment back to the source record and the governing US law.
- 3Build realistic legal prompts, fact patterns, and model answers from your own litigation experience.
- 4Flag errors, missing pieces, and risky advice inside AI-written legal content.
- 5Review AI-drafted discovery and case strategy material for gaps a practicing litigator would catch.
- 6Attend onboarding and calibration sessions so your scoring stays aligned with the rest of the bench.
Requirements6
- 1Active bar membership in at least one US state.
- 23+ years of US litigation practice covering areas such as civil or commercial litigation, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.
- 3J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- 4Clear legal writing and close attention to detail.
- 52+ years at an AmLaw 100 firm (strongly preferred).
- 6Prior data annotation, AI evaluation, or legal benchmark work helps your application.
Who Should Apply
Practicing US litigators with three or more years of hands-on motion, discovery, and trial prep work who want flexible remote review projects. AmLaw 100 alumni and anyone with prior AI evaluation or annotation experience move to the front of the queue.

The work feeds high-quality legal reasoning data used to train frontier models. Expect a one-week review window of roughly 30 to 40 hours, a short onboarding session, and a firm rule that every attorney must finish the full set of reviews.
