Overview
Mercor pairs you with a leading research lab on a project built around Turkish language quality. Day to day, you judge how well a large language model handles Turkish tasks such as translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction, then label and rewrite text so the model learns from cleaner examples. The work calls for real command of Turkish grammar, syntax, and stylistics, plus the patience to catch phrasing that reads wrong to a native speaker. Your annotations and written feedback go straight to AI researchers who use them to shape the next round of training.
What You'll Do6
- Score model output in Turkish for accuracy and fluency across translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction tasks.
- Rewrite or edit Turkish passages so they meet native-level linguistic and cultural standards.
- Tag Turkish text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic properties.
- Flag recurring model mistakes and language gaps, then share findings with the research team.
- Write clear linguistic analyses that inform later rounds of model training.
- Adapt wording for regional variation and context so examples reflect how Turkish is actually used.
Requirements6
- Native or near-native Turkish, with solid command of grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
- Hands-on background in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work involving Turkish.
- Awareness of regional variation and the cultural context behind word choice.
- Keen eye for subtle errors and unnatural phrasing that slips past casual readers.
- Comfort working with distributed teams and communicating feedback in writing.
- Interest in AI and language technology helps, though the project does not require prior model experience.
Who Should Apply
Turkish translators, editors, and annotation specialists who want their language judgment to feed directly into model training. You read Turkish closely enough to catch the odd phrase, and you can explain in writing why a sentence fails.
Salary Insight
This role pays $50.00 per hour on a part-time basis. For Turkish linguistic annotation and LLM evaluation work, that rate sits at the upper end and typically matches people with professional translation, editing, or NLP data experience rather than newcomers.
