• Build and ship tested code for a range of projects, each with its own stack, conventions, and constraints.
• Track down bugs, restructure messy code, and improve how existing systems perform and scale.
• Review pull requests from other engineers and supply feedback that makes the code better.
• Work through technical specs, architecture calls, and implementation plans in written async discussions.
• Write documentation for code, APIs, and technical approaches so another engineer can reproduce the result.
• Contribute engineering effort to an early-stage Y Combinator-backed company across several domains at once.

Requirements9

• One to three years in a professional software engineering role, full-time or equivalent.
• Deep working knowledge of at least one modern programming language and its ecosystem.
• A track record of scoping, building, and delivering features or fixes with little supervision.
• Grounding in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or comparable practical experience.
• Preferred: work across frontend, backend, APIs, or infrastructure layers.
• Preferred: comfort with Git, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tooling and collaborative workflows.
• Preferred: exposure to AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud deployment environment.
• Preferred: open source contributions or software projects you built and shipped yourself.

Who Should Apply

An engineer with one to three years of shipped production work who can pick up an unfamiliar codebase and deliver inside a two-week window. Range across at least one language ecosystem, plus Git and CI/CD, matters more here than deep specialization. Open source or side projects show the self-direction this work demands.
