Punjabi Team Lead

What You'll Do8

• Review Punjabi translations of ARC science benchmark questions from English and judge each item against the source for accuracy and faithfulness.
• Compare the existing translation with an AI-proposed correction, then weigh meaning and fidelity ahead of stylistic changes.
• Check the question and answer choices, choose accept original, accept AI correction, edit final translation, or escalate, and add a short review comment.
• Protect source meaning, difficulty, answer structure, scientific terms, and protected elements while following core and language-specific guidelines.
• Evaluate trainer and QA output for grammar, spelling, fluency, tone, cultural fit, meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and rubric adherence.
• Spot repeated quality gaps, send updates to trainers and QAs, and support onboarding for new contributors.
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, honeypots, and other quality documentation.
• Help re-engage contributors with low activity and keep quality workflows on track across remote teams.

Requirements9

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Punjabi, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near-native Punjabi reading and writing ability.
• English strong enough to read project guidelines, coordinate with teams, and write clear feedback.
• 3+ years of professional work in Punjabi writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or a similar language-review workflow.
• Solid knowledge of Punjabi grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, dialect variation, and cultural context.
• Read and write Gurmukhi and/or Shahmukhi, with a clear note on which script or scripts you handle.
• Skill at checking Punjabi content against detailed rubrics and spotting mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems in a remote workflow.
• Detail-oriented and organized enough to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, honeypots, and other quality documents.

Preferred Qualifications2

• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
• Background in AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.
