Overview

micro1 is hiring experienced procurement and vendor management practitioners to design benchmark tasks that test what AI systems can do. You will turn real procurement workflows into multi-step tasks with objective grading criteria. This is a fully remote contractor role with no geographic restrictions. Strong English (B2 minimum, C1 preferred) is required. No prior AI experience is needed.

What You'll Do6

  • Design multi-step procurement tasks such as supplier assessment, bid comparison, vendor risk analysis, and contract review, complete with realistic reference files and clear instructions.
  • Define objective grading criteria so that two qualified reviewers would reach the same verdict on the same output.
  • Build tasks that require judgment rather than simple lookup, where the correct answer depends on reading the materials correctly.
  • Create or source supporting materials for each task, including RFP responses, pricing schedules, contracts, SLAs, and risk assessments.
  • Flag tasks that turn out to be ambiguous or ungradable instead of submitting them.
  • Deliver approved tasks on schedule and at the required quality level.

Requirements6

  • 5+ years of hands-on responsibility in procurement, sourcing, supplier assessment, or vendor management, with direct ownership of the work rather than supervisory-only or adjacent exposure.
  • Experience creating or applying structured evaluation standards such as supplier scorecards, weighted bid criteria, vendor risk frameworks, or category strategies.
  • Comfort working across contracts, spreadsheets, and reports at the same time.
  • CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong English, both written and spoken, with B2 minimum and C1 preferred.
  • AI or LLM evaluation experience is a plus, but not required.

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate has at least five years of direct procurement or vendor management experience and has built supplier scorecards, weighted bid evaluations, or vendor risk frameworks. They are comfortable juggling contracts, spreadsheets, and reports, and can write clear English at a B2 level or higher. Prior AI experience is not needed.

Salary Insight

Pay is up to $90 per hour equivalent. The exact rate is discussed during the hiring process.

Application tip

In your application, highlight specific procurement artifacts you have created, such as supplier scorecards, weighted bid criteria, or vendor risk frameworks, and quantify their impact. Mention any CIPS or CPSM certification and your English proficiency level.
