
Physics QA Lead for Remote Contract Engagement
Overview
This remote hourly contract role guides physics QA across AI training projects. Assess AI-generated physics explanations, calculations, diagrams, and reasoning against rubrics. Provide precise written feedback to trainers and QAs to uphold quality standards. Communicate guidelines and workflow updates in Discord and maintain physics documentation. Identify recurring quality gaps and drive improvements in QA workflows for physics content.
What You'll Do9
- 1Review AI-generated physics explanations, calculations, diagrams, derivations, and step-by-step reasoning to surface quality issues.
- 2Provide targeted feedback via direct messages and escalate high-priority concerns.
- 3Update Discord channels with guidelines, workflow changes, and physics-specific quality expectations.
- 4Respond to questions on physical assumptions, formulas, units, derivations, diagrams, experimental setups, and rubric interpretation.
- 5Direct inactive contributors to re-engage, track follow-ups, and flag availability gaps.
- 6Create and maintain physics documentation, style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
- 7Lead onboarding and training calls for physics contributors.
- 8Flag misleading or numerically incorrect, physically impossible, or poorly contextualized physics claims.
- 9Identify recurring quality gaps and refine physics QA workflows.
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Engineering Physics, Astrophysics, Mathematics, Engineering, or closely related quantitative field.
- 2Strong English skills to follow guidelines, communicate with teams, and provide clear technical feedback.
- 33+ years in physics research, teaching, tutoring, laboratory work, science writing, academic review, engineering analysis, or related scientific workflows.
- 4Solid understanding of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, waves, optics, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics, relativity, units, dimensional analysis, and mathematical modeling.
- 5Ability to evaluate physics content against rubrics and identify issues such as incorrect assumptions, wrong formulas, unit errors, flawed reasoning, sign convention mistakes, physically impossible claims, or misleading explanations.
- 6Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, LaTeX, data analysis, simulations, scientific visualization, and numerical methods is preferred.
- 7Experience leading or supporting remote teams of educators, reviewers, researchers, annotators, science writers, or QAs is strongly preferred.
- 8Comfortable with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
- 9Highly organized with ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, calibration tasks, and documentation.
- 10Experience with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, scientific QA, academic review, or rubric-based review is a strong plus.
- 11Native fluency in Punjabi.
