Physician AI Trainer – Hospital Medicine
Listing checked October 13, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 seeks a Physician AI Trainer to bring inpatient clinical expertise to a customer project centered on inpatient care and documentation standards. You will review medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, to help train next-generation AI systems. Your input will directly shape how models learn and reason from real-world clinical data. This is a remote contractor role open to physicians across the United States.
What You'll Do6
- 1Examine medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, to support AI training efforts.
- 2Verify that clinical information and claims align with what the medical record shows.
- 3Assess inpatient adult medicine documentation such as HPI, PMH, medication reconciliation, social history, assessments, and plans.
- 4Apply project guidelines consistently across every record you review.
- 5Flag missing, incorrect, or inconsistent details, including renal- and hepatic-adjusted dosing, medication interactions, and age-appropriate clinical information.
- 6Provide feedback that helps improve AI models and overall data quality.
Requirements7
- 1MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine, or Internal Medicine with a Hospital Medicine focused practice designation.
- 2At least 5 years of hospitalist experience.
- 3Current or recent inpatient hospitalist experience within the last 2 years.
- 4Solid grasp of inpatient documentation and hospital workflows, covering admission, daily progress notes, transitions of care, and discharge.
- 5Comfort reviewing clinical notes and raw medical record data.
- 6Keen attention to detail and the ability to follow clear guidelines consistently.
- 7Experience with chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This role fits a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with at least five years of hospitalist experience and recent inpatient work within the last two years. You should be comfortable reading raw medical record data, including FHIR data, and applying documentation standards across admissions, progress notes, transitions of care, and discharges. Candidates who have done chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA tend to ramp up faster. The role is less suitable for physicians without adult inpatient experience or those who have not practiced hospital medicine recently. A common reason candidates get rejected is falling short of the 5-year hospitalist threshold or lacking current inpatient experience. Another is inconsistent application of guidelines, which shows up when reviewers miss details like renal- or hepatic-adjusted dosing or medication interactions.

The time needed to complete each task varies with your experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply, and experts must submit a minimum number of tasks per week.
