Listing checked October 13, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
This contract role with micro1 puts your hospitalist expertise to work on a customer project centered on inpatient care and documentation standards. You will review medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, to help train next-generation AI systems. Your input will shape how these models learn and reason from real-world clinical information. The work is remote and based in the United States.
What You'll Do6
- 1Examine medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, for use in AI training.
- 2Verify that clinical information and claims align with what the medical record shows.
- 3Review inpatient adult medicine documentation such as HPI, PMH, medication reconciliation, social history, assessments, and plans.
- 4Apply project guidelines consistently across every record you review.
- 5Flag missing, incorrect, or inconsistent details, including renal- and hepatic-adjusted dosing, medication interactions, and age-appropriate clinical information.
- 6Provide feedback that helps improve AI models and data quality.
Requirements7
- 1At least 5 years of hospitalist experience.
- 2MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine with a Hospital Medicine focused practice designation.
- 3Current or recent inpatient hospitalist experience within the last 2 years.
- 4Solid grasp of inpatient documentation and hospital workflows, including admission, daily progress notes, transitions of care, and discharge.
- 5Comfort reviewing clinical notes and raw medical record data.
- 6Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow clear guidelines consistently.
- 7Experience with chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This role fits a board-certified Internal Medicine physician who has spent at least five years as a hospitalist and remains active in inpatient care within the last two years. You should be at ease reading raw medical record data, including FHIR feeds and clinical notes, and you should enjoy applying guidelines with precision. Candidates who have done chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA tend to pick up the workflow faster. The role is less suitable for physicians without recent inpatient hospitalist experience or those who prefer direct patient care over detailed record review. A common reason candidates get rejected is falling short of the five-year hospitalist threshold or lacking board certification in Internal Medicine. Another is submitting work that misses project specifications, since compensation depends on tasks that meet those standards.
Salary Insight
Compensation is $80 to $125 per hour, but pay is output-based. You are paid per task that meets the project specifications, and the time required to complete work may vary depending on your experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply, and experts must submit a minimum number of tasks per week.

Application Tip
In your application, state your board certification in Internal Medicine and give exact dates for your last two years of inpatient hospitalist work. List any chart review, clinical documentation improvement, utilization review, or medical coding/QA experience with concrete examples, such as the number of records you reviewed per week or the specific documentation types you handled. This helps the reviewer confirm you meet the five-year hospitalist requirement and the recent inpatient experience criterion.
