We're seeking a seasoned leader in patient collections and financial services to provide domain expertise that will refine AI tools for self-pay management, payment plans, and financial advocacy. Your hands-on knowledge will directly influence how these AI systems optimize patient payment experiences while maximizing revenue capture.
What You'll Do8
- 1Oversee all self-pay collections operations, including early-out efforts, bad debt management, and patient payment plan administration.
- 2Review and critique AI-generated financial communications, payment plan suggestions, and self-pay resolution strategies for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- 3Design and implement self-pay collection approaches across the revenue cycle—pre-service, point-of-service, and post-service.
- 4Manage patient payment plan enrollment, monitoring, and compliance, coordinating with financial counseling, billing, and recovery teams to optimize revenue.
- 5Track key performance indicators such as self-pay collection rates, payment plan conversion, bad debt write-off rates, and patient satisfaction.
- 6Ensure all processes comply with FDCPA, HIPAA, state collections laws, and internal financial assistance policies.
- 7Supervise relationships with collection agencies and early-out vendors as needed.
- 8Annotate AI outputs and deliver structured feedback to support training datasets for machine learning models.
Requirements6
- 1At least 5 years of experience in patient collections, self-pay revenue cycle, or patient financial services, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- 2Deep understanding of self-pay collection workflows, FDCPA compliance, and best practices for patient financial engagement.
- 3Proven track record managing early-out and bad debt programs, with experience overseeing external vendors.
- 4Familiarity with propensity-to-pay tools and patient payment technology platforms.
- 5Proficiency with EHR systems and billing or collections platforms.
- 6Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with high attention to detail for evaluating AI-generated content.
