Overview

This role offers experienced marketing professionals a chance to shape how AI systems understand and execute marketing tasks. You won't be producing deliverables yourself; instead, you'll set the bar for quality by designing evaluation criteria and scoring work samples with thorough, written justifications. It's a unique opportunity to apply your craft knowledge to advance AI capabilities in marketing.

What You'll Do5

  • 1Develop precise, task-specific grading rubrics for real-world marketing materials such as creative briefs, campaign decks, brand positioning frameworks, ad copy, and integrated plans.
  • 2Evaluate both AI-generated and human-produced work against those rubrics, providing detailed written explanations for each score.
  • 3Maintain consistent and evidence-based judgment to ensure scores are reproducible and defensible across different evaluators.
  • 4Act on structured feedback from senior reviewers, quickly refining your approach and criteria as needed.
  • 5Collaborate with a team to calibrate scoring standards and uphold quality across the evaluation project.

Requirements5

  • 1At least 5 years of professional experience in marketing or advertising, ideally in roles like creative director, account lead, or brand strategist at top-tier agencies or leading consumer brands.
  • 2Deep hands-on familiarity with the marketing craft: writing and assessing creative briefs, developing campaigns across multiple channels, shaping brand positioning, and judging work against a business objective.
  • 3Exceptional written communication skills—you can clearly articulate why a piece of work meets or misses the mark.
  • 4Meticulous attention to detail and comfort with having your decisions reviewed and calibrated against peers.
  • 5Experience with AI training, evaluation, or human-data projects is a strong plus, but not required.

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is ideal for seasoned marketing leaders who love dissecting creative work and have a knack for setting clear, objective standards. If you thrive on giving constructive, evidence-based feedback and enjoy helping machines learn from human expertise, this role will leverage your experience in a new and impactful way.

Salary Insight

$80 - $150 per hour, depending on experience and the specific project scope—hourly engagement with a remote, flexible schedule.

Application Tip

When applying, include at least one example of a time you evaluated creative work against a brief (e.g., an award entry, an internal review, or a campaign post-mortem) and briefly explain the criteria you used. This directly demonstrates the judgment this role requires.
