Overview
Join SME Careers as a remote, hourly Market Research expert within our AI data services network. You will review AI-generated market research outputs for accuracy and reasoning, and produce deliverables like research plans, briefs, survey instruments, and competitor scans. Provide precise written feedback to improve model performance across market sizing, segmentation, and insights. A solid background in qualitative and quantitative methods and C1+ English supports clear, decision-ready conclusions across time zones.
What You'll Do8
- 1Review AI-generated market research outputs for accuracy, clarity, and methodological soundness.
- 2Create expert deliverables including research plans, briefs, survey instruments, and insight summaries.
- 3Evaluate reasoning quality and step-by-step analyses, providing precise written feedback.
- 4Rate multiple AI responses against correctness, usefulness, and reasoning to guide improvements.
- 5Identify and flag flaws in research design, sampling logic, bias, or evidence usage.
- 6Ensure consistent approaches to TAM/SAM/SOM sizing and forecasting across projects.
- 7Collaborate with AI trainers and researchers to refine prompts and improve data quality.
- 8Document findings and write explanations that illustrate proper research reasoning.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 25+ years in market research, consumer insights, strategy, or analytics (agency, consulting, or in-house).
- 3Strong grasp of qualitative and quantitative methods: interviews, focus groups, surveys; familiarity with conjoint/MaxDiff optional.
- 4Proven ability to design and critique research instruments: wording, scales, screening, survey flow, quality checks.
- 5Sharp analytical reasoning: translate ambiguous questions into testable hypotheses and actionable conclusions.
- 6Experience with market sizing and forecasting logic, including triangulation and sensitivity checks.
- 7Exceptional attention to detail in spotting flawed methodology, weak evidence, or inflated claims; strong English (C1+).
- 8Reliable, self-directed, able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- 9Prior exposure to AI data training/annotation, insight QA, research ops, or editorial review is strongly preferred.
Who Should Apply
Five-plus years of market research or analytics experience makes you a strong fit. You excel at applying both qualitative and quantitative methods to real-world questions and can translate ambiguous aims into testable hypotheses. This role suits professionals who can critique AI-generated outputs and produce rigorous, decision-ready research deliverables. It is less suitable for candidates seeking full-time in-house roles or those without experience in AI data contexts or remote contractor environments. If you prefer steady, fixed-schedule projects over flexible hourly engagements, this may not be the right fit.
