Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree or higher in linguistics, Marathi/English literature, communications, journalism, translation, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2Native or near-native Marathi proficiency (reading and writing required).
- 3Strong professional proficiency in English (minimum C1) to follow guidelines and provide detailed feedback.
- 43+ years of experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language-focused work.
- 5Deep understanding of Marathi grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style with ability to explain fixes.
- 6Comfort with multiple registers and dialect variation (Pune/Mumbai/local vs diaspora) and audience adaptation.
- 7High attention to detail to spot subtle meaning shifts and culturally mismatched phrasing.
- 8Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- 9Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
