Litigation Expert | $90-$100/hr Remote
Overview
Mercor is looking for seasoned litigation attorneys to create and evaluate training exercises that teach AI systems how to handle civil litigation and dispute resolution. You'll design realistic case scenarios, develop reference legal documents, and build scoring rubrics that mirror the judgment of experienced litigators. Work can focus on US procedure, international arbitration, or both, depending on your background.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build detailed litigation scenarios covering pre-trial discovery, motion practice, trial strategy, and settlement or arbitration stages.
- 2Create evaluation tasks for commercial disputes, class actions, evidence management, trial advocacy, and appellate practice.
- 3Develop exercises that incorporate e-discovery platforms like Relativity and Everlaw, plus litigation management and deposition preparation tools.
- 4Produce reference pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and trial memoranda aligned with the applicable procedural rules — whether FRCP and state court rules or English CPR and international arbitration rules.
- 5Write rubrics that separate genuine, high-level litigation reasoning from generic law-school-level analysis.
Requirements4
- 1At least 5 years of experience as a litigator or trial attorney at a major firm or corporate litigation department, with direct responsibility for complex commercial matters.
- 2Hands-on trial or arbitration experience, including managing discovery, evidence, and motion practice.
- 3Strong command of litigation workflows and procedural systems, such as US federal/state rules or English and international arbitration frameworks.
- 4A JD with bar admission (or international equivalent like Barrister or Solicitor with advocacy rights) is strongly preferred; prior experience authoring rubrics or training content is a plus.
