We're seeking experienced legal research professionals to help train advanced AI models in legal reasoning. In this remote, freelance role, you'll evaluate AI-generated legal research against real-world standards, verify citations and authorities, and provide structured feedback to improve how AI handles complex legal questions. What You'll Do5
- 1Assess legal research produced by AI for accuracy, relevance, and adherence to professional legal standards.
- 2Verify that all cited cases, statutes, and regulations are current, correctly cited, and remain good law.
- 3Identify errors such as incorrect citations, misstated holdings, outdated authorities, or missing controlling precedent.
- 4Distinguish between binding and persuasive authority, offering clear written justifications for your evaluations.
- 5Participate in calibration sessions and provide structured feedback to refine AI model performance on legal tasks.
Requirements3
- 1A J.D. with bar admission or an MLIS (or equivalent) with professional law librarian or legal research experience.
- 2At least 2+ years of professional legal experience in a litigation, research-heavy role, or as a law librarian supporting substantive research.
- 3Hands-on proficiency with Westlaw, including experience using KeyCite and other tools to validate case law, statutes, and regulations.
