Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree or higher in Japanese Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or related field.
- 2Native or near-native Japanese with strong command of Japan locale conventions.
- 3Minimum C1 English proficiency for interpreting prompts, sources, and evaluation guidelines.
- 45+ years of professional localization/translation experience; multilingual localization preferred.
- 5Demonstrated ability to apply MQM/LQA concepts to quality decisions and root-cause analysis.
- 6Proficiency with CAT tools, translation memory, termbases, and automated QA checks; comfort with structured guidelines.
- 7Excellent editorial judgment on register, tone, inclusivity, and cultural nuance with meticulous attention to detail.
- 8Proven ability to fact-check localized content (units, references, names, dates) using reliable sources.
- 9Comfort working as an hourly contractor with dependable throughput and documentation across time zones.
