Overview
Celsius takes on an International Payroll Specialist for its Finance Team in Barcelona, working onsite on a full-time basis. You own monthly and bi-weekly payrolls across several countries, running them through a centralised payroll platform while an external provider handles the underlying data. Close contact with the International HR Team and the HQ Payroll Team shapes the job, alongside SOX controls, local statutory rules, and GDPR data-protection duties. Payroll accounting feeds the wider finance function as well, since general ledger mappings, journal entries, and reconciliations all land on your desk. Benefit programme research and payroll system upgrades round out the remit.
What You'll Do10
- Run monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles in each assigned country, keeping every payment on schedule and inside local rules.
- Hold external payroll providers to their SLAs, compliance obligations, and service-quality standards.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and confirm the Finance Team posts them on time with accurate general ledger mappings.
- Reconcile payroll taxes, salaries, and third-party payments, then report the results.
- Keep complete supporting documentation for payroll audits and internal control reviews.
- Serve as the first point of contact for payroll questions from internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with HR to research and recommend benefit programmes such as health insurance, pensions, and wellness plans.
- Coordinate payroll system upgrades, integrations, and configuration work with the stakeholders involved.
- Maintain payroll calendars and handle year-end, statutory reporting, and compliance submissions for each market.
- Handle payroll data under GDPR and other data-protection rules with proper system access controls, and cover the other International Payroll Specialist's markets during absences.
Requirements7
- Hands-on experience running international payroll.
- Working knowledge of payroll accounting.
- Sharp eye for detail backed by strong analytical and numerical ability.
- Familiarity with SOX controls and the discipline to follow departmental processes and procedures.
- Solid planning skills plus the ability to analyze conflicts and resolve them.
- Clear written and verbal English for collaboration with colleagues at every level.
- Deep grasp of wage, tax, pension, and social security processes, systems, and legislation across markets, together with knowledge of international statutory requirements.
Who Should Apply
Payroll professionals who have run multi-country cycles and know payroll accounting and statutory rules will fit this Barcelona role. The job brings constant stakeholder contact, so clear English and ease with SOX controls matter.
