Overview

Remote and paid hourly, this role puts your survey design expertise onto physician and patient questionnaires for a top-tier AI research effort. You'll evaluate and improve instruments focused on prostate cancer, ulcerative colitis, and migraine, with COPD and other indications likely to follow. The work demands a sharp eye for question wording, flow, and bias, so the data actually tells a true story for pharma decision-makers.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Create, assess, and polish survey instruments targeting physicians, specialists, and patients.
  • 2Turn research goals into clear questionnaires with strong structural logic.
  • 3Scrutinize screeners, eligibility criteria, question phrasing, response scales, and flow logic.
  • 4Spot questions that are leading, vague, or too technical for the intended respondents.
  • 5Adapt survey language and structure for different audiences: physicians, PCPs, or patients.
  • 6Check survey length, respondent burden, question order, and memory-related biases.
  • 7Weigh whether each item will yield dependable, actionable data.
  • 8Integrate standard pharmaceutical market research conventions into the design.
  • 9Work with therapeutic-area specialists to ensure clinical accuracy and appropriate framing.
  • 10Deliver clear written feedback and concrete recommendations for improvement.

Requirements8

  • 1At least three years working in healthcare, pharmaceutical, life-sciences, or medical research.
  • 2Hands-on experience designing or fielding surveys that reach physicians, patients, or other healthcare stakeholders.
  • 3Solid command of questionnaire design principles and survey methodology.
  • 4Familiarity with the unique demands of physician research, including specialty screening, patient-volume qualifications, prescribing patterns, and clinical terminology.
  • 5Track record with patient surveys covering diagnosis history, treatment experience, symptoms, quality of life, adherence, or patient journey.
  • 6Exposure to pharmaceutical market research, commercial insights, or medical affairs research.
  • 7Comfort with survey platforms such as Qualtrics, Forsta (Decipher), Alchemer, or SurveyMonkey is a plus.
  • 8Ability to articulate precise, written methodological feedback.

Who Should Apply

Your background sits squarely in healthcare survey methodology or pharmaceutical insights research. You can point to specific instruments you've designed or reviewed, and you understand how to write questions that serve both clinical accuracy and data quality. This role is less appropriate if you've only done general consumer surveys or if your healthcare experience leans more toward analytics without any questionnaire work. Candidates often score low on fit when they can't show hands-on survey building or when their written feedback samples are vague.

Salary Insight

The hourly rate is $140, a strong payout that signals the senior-level, specialized nature of the work. It matches what experienced healthcare survey researchers typically command on a freelance or contract basis. Expect to discuss scope and engagement length with the hiring team.
