Go Engineer for AI Data Training Remote Contract
Overview
This remote hourly role places you on SME Careers' AI data training team as a Go engineer reviewing AI-generated code and explanations, and sometimes drafting your own idiomatic Go implementations. You’ll assess reasoning quality and step-by-step problem solving to provide expert feedback that helps models answer accurately and clearly. You’ll verify correctness, readability, and adherence to backend patterns, spotting issues in concurrency and error handling. You’ll fact-check information, craft precise explanations, and write model solutions that demonstrate idiomatic Go, while evaluating multiple AI responses for accuracy and reasoning, with gRPC, Gin, and LLMs involved.
What You'll Do8
- 1Review AI-generated Go code and explanations for correctness and idiomatic patterns in production-style backend services.
- 2Create and curate Go-based training prompts and sample solutions to guide AI models across backend topics.
- 3Evaluate and rank AI responses by accuracy, reasoning quality, and contextual relevance.
- 4Identify issues in concurrency, error propagation, API design, and backend best practices, and document them clearly.
- 5Provide structured feedback and concrete recommendations to improve model outputs.
- 6Collaborate with data scientists to align prompts with production-grade Go patterns and performance goals.
- 7Fact-check information and craft high-quality explanations and model solutions that demonstrate idiomatic Go.
- 8Rate and compare multiple AI solutions to select the strongest responses for training data.
Requirements9
- 11–2+ years of professional Go programming experience, ideally focused on backend services, APIs, or systems.
- 2Strong understanding of Go idioms, including clear error handling, composition over inheritance, and simple, readable interfaces.
- 3Hands-on software engineering experience building and maintaining production backend Go applications.
- 4Ability to evaluate correctness and readability in backend-oriented Go code, including concurrency patterns, error propagation, and API design.
- 5Significant experience using LLMs or AI coding assistants while programming, combined with a disciplined approach to validating their outputs.
- 6Excellent English writing skills, capable of producing precise, structured, and pedagogical technical explanations.
- 7Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
- 8Preferred: hands-on experience with Go frameworks and libraries such as Gin, gRPC, or Echo in real projects.
- 9Preferred: merged PRs in Go open-source projects, competitive programming experience, cloud-native development, and familiarity with Go performance profiling tools.
Who Should Apply
Candidates with solid Go backend experience (1–2+ years) who enjoy deep technical review and AI tooling will excel. You should be comfortable evaluating concurrency patterns, API design, and idiomatic Go in production contexts. Strong written English is essential to deliver precise explanations and feedback for model training. This role is less suitable for those without hands-on Go backend work or without experience with LLMs or AI coding assistants, or for those who prefer on-site work or less independent remote collaboration.
