Overview

micro1 seeks experienced Federal Civil Litigation Attorneys to join an AI research initiative. You will apply your litigation background to assess and refine AI-generated legal motions, ensuring they meet professional standards. This remote contractor role involves reviewing, ranking, and editing motions, and creating realistic assignments and evaluation criteria. Your insights will help improve how AI systems draft and evaluate legal arguments.

What You'll Do7

  • Compare AI-generated legal motions for persuasiveness, structure, clarity, tone, and overall quality.
  • Rank multiple versions of motions and explain your preferences with clear reasoning.
  • Judge whether AI-generated motions meet professional standards and pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Edit and refine motions to a ready-to-file standard, documenting the changes you make.
  • Design realistic motion-writing assignments drawn from federal civil litigation scenarios.
  • Establish evaluation criteria to measure the quality and effectiveness of AI-generated legal arguments.
  • Apply practical litigation experience to identify what makes legal writing persuasive and effective in court.

Requirements8

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active U.S. bar membership in good standing.
  • Practicing attorney with substantial hands-on experience in federal civil litigation and motion drafting.
  • Proven record of winning at least three court motions, with supporting court filings available for screening.
  • Strong experience drafting substantive motions such as motions to dismiss or motions for summary judgment.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills.
  • Ability to critically evaluate legal arguments and clearly explain why one approach is more effective than another.
  • Strong attention to detail in legal reasoning, citation accuracy, document structure, and professional writing standards.
  • Experience in appellate litigation or a judicial clerkship combined with litigation practice is highly relevant.

Who Should Apply

Practicing attorneys with a JD, active U.S. bar membership, and a track record of winning federal civil motions. You should have hands-on experience drafting dispositive motions and a sharp eye for persuasive legal writing.
