Overview
Turing, a research accelerator for frontier AI labs, seeks U.S. litigation experts to refine large language models such as ChatGPT. You will apply your knowledge of trial strategy, motion practice, discovery, and procedural rules to evaluate AI-generated responses to complex litigation scenarios. Your feedback will help improve the accuracy and reasoning of AI systems in legal contexts. This remote, flexible role requires 10–30 hours per week for about one month, with possible extension.
What You'll Do5
- Assess AI responses to hypothetical litigation questions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment analyses, discovery disputes, and trial strategy.
- Use a structured legal rubric to check issue spotting, procedural accuracy under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and application of case law and evidentiary standards.
- Identify weaknesses in AI reasoning on standing, jurisdiction, burden of proof, pleading standards (Twombly/Iqbal), and remedies.
- Write detailed annotations and feedback to help refine AI models.
- Work with researchers and project managers to maintain consistent evaluation standards and meet project goals.
Requirements6
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active or inactive bar admission.
- At least 3 years of U.S. legal practice in civil litigation, commercial litigation, or appellate work.
- Strong reasoning skills in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, evidence, and trial advocacy.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
- High ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications1
- Interest in AI
Who Should Apply
Candidates with a J.D., bar admission, and 3+ years of U.S. civil litigation experience who enjoy analyzing case strategy and providing rigorous legal feedback. The role suits someone with strong reasoning in civil procedure and evidence, and an interest in AI.
