Overview
micro1 is looking for a CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialist to contribute to a pioneering project training AI models. Your core responsibility will be creating and validating precise parametric models using FreeCAD, generating high-quality 3D data that teaches AI systems about real-world mechanical design. No prior AI experience is required – what matters is your deep domain expertise in CAD and engineering.
What You'll Do7
- 1Create, edit, and validate accurate parametric CAD models in FreeCAD, following engineering best practices for geometric integrity.
- 2Develop a broad library of mechanical parts, assemblies, and features to support AI dataset creation and model training.
- 3Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles so that every model reflects real-world manufacturing standards.
- 4Conduct quality assurance reviews of CAD files, identify and resolve errors, and maintain thorough engineering documentation.
- 5Quickly implement feedback and revisions to keep deliverables aligned with evolving project requirements.
- 6Optionally use Python scripting to automate modeling tasks, enhance parametrization, and enrich the dataset.
- 7Document your modeling workflows and decisions to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
Requirements7
- 1At least 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, with strong proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric software.
- 2Deep understanding of parametric modeling principles and mechanical design best practices.
- 3Solid expertise in CAD validation and the application of GD&T for real-world manufacturing.
- 4Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and industrial engineering workflows.
- 5Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to precision and quality in every deliverable.
- 6Experience preparing clear engineering documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 7Bonus: Python scripting skills for CAD automation (highly preferred but not required).
