Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to find seasoned audit professionals who can translate their real-world experience into high-quality training data. In this freelance role, you'll help teach AI to think like an auditor by designing realistic scenarios and evaluating its outputs. If you have a strong background in external audit, internal audit, or SOX compliance, this is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a cutting-edge context.
What You'll Do4
- 1Create authentic audit scenarios drawn from your own work—covering areas like audit planning, risk assessment, substantive testing, workpaper documentation, and the final report or opinion.
- 2Review AI-generated audit responses to verify their accuracy, evidential support, and professional reasoning, then provide clear, constructive written feedback.
- 3Document and test SOX controls by designing walkthroughs, evaluating issue tracking, and validating remediation steps.
- 4Collaborate asynchronously with the research team to refine how the AI model handles audit and controls tasks.
Requirements4
- 1Proven experience in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) and/or internal audit / SOX controls.
- 2Active CPA or CIA certification.
- 3A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- 4Excellent written communication skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
