Overview
Mercor is teaming up with a top-tier AI research lab to enhance text-to-speech systems, aiming for voices that sound genuinely human and expressive. We're seeking USA-based African American voice actors to produce premium voice recordings for training and assessing next-gen speech models. Your contributions will be solely used for the client's internal customer service AI agent—no reuse, licensing, or sale of your voice data will occur.
What You'll Do5
- 1Record clear, high-fidelity audio across varied script types, including conversational, narrative, and instructional content.
- 2Deliver speech that is natural, expressive, and demonstrates strong control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation.
- 3Maintain consistent voice quality, accent, and delivery from session to session.
- 4Adhere to detailed recording requirements regarding ambient noise, microphone setup, and file format standards.
- 5When needed, perform multiple takes with different emotional inflections, emphasis, or stylistic variations to capture the best output.
Requirements5
- 1Based in the USA and able to deliver natural African American English with authentic speech patterns.
- 2Proven background in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting–ideally with professional training or prior paid work.
- 3Access to a professional-grade recording setup (quality microphone, pop filter, sound-treated space) to produce clean, consistent audio.
- 4Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range to bring scripts to life naturally.
- 5Willingness to have your voice cloned exclusively for the client's CX AI Agent – recordings will not be sold or reused beyond this specific use case.
