Overview

micro1 seeks VA-accredited Veterans Service Officers to evaluate and improve AI systems on veterans benefits topics. You will apply your claims experience to verify that sample questions reflect what real veterans and families ask, and that answers are accurate and useful. The project runs short-term at 20-30 hours per week, fully remote. No AI background is needed. Your VA claims and accreditation expertise is what matters most.

What You'll Do5

  • 1Review sample veterans benefits questions and flag any that do not sound like what real veterans or family members ask.
  • 2Write rubrics that define a correct, complete answer on service-connected disability compensation, including filing a claim and the evidence involved.
  • 3Cover dependents and survivor benefits (such as DIC and CHAMPVA) and appeals and decision reviews in your rubrics.
  • 4Evaluate AI-generated answers against your rubrics, flagging errors, omissions, and outdated guidance.
  • 5Share clear written feedback with the project team, working asynchronously.

Requirements6

  • 1Current VA accreditation (VSO representative, County Veterans Service Officer, accredited claims agent, or similar)
  • 21+ years preparing and filing VA claims for veterans or their families
  • 3Working knowledge of disability compensation, dependents and survivor benefits, and appeals
  • 4US-based
  • 5Able to start quickly and commit 20-30 hours/week
  • 6Clear, precise writing

Who Should Apply

VA-accredited representatives, county Veterans Service Officers, or accredited claims agents with at least one year of hands-on experience filing claims. You know disability compensation, survivor benefits, and the appeals process well enough to define what a correct answer looks like. Strong written communication and availability for 20-30 hours per week are key.

Salary Insight

The role pays $40 to $60 per hour. Final rate is discussed during the hiring process.
