Overview

micro1 is assembling a participant pool for an AI model training effort that depends on deep chart reading abilities. You'll work through complex financial and operational visuals, including candlestick charts, yield curves, Pareto charts, and control charts, and then write reasoning tasks that require real quantitative steps. Each deliverable needs a clear, objective question and a written answer that documents the math and the logic behind it. The project runs remotely, on a contract basis, with no previous AI work expected. Your domain expertise, not your technical background in AI, is what micro1 wants to buy.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Read and interpret detailed financial charts like candlestick patterns, market-volume visuals, drawdown graphs, and yield curves, using professional-grade judgment.
  • 2Build clear, objective reasoning questions around each chart so answering them takes multi-step quantitative analysis, not a surface read.
  • 3Write model solutions that are exact and complete, showing the formulas, units, and logical steps behind every answer in professional English.
  • 4Keep terminology and notation consistent across all work: units, scales, timeframes, categories, and axis labels must never be ambiguous.
  • 5Develop task sets that exercise graphical reasoning, trend comparison, calculation, and interpolation while removing any subjective phrasing.
  • 6Join remote syncs and written discussions to share feedback, align on formatting, and keep the quality bar identical across contributors.
  • 7Carefully produce deliverables that feed the development, training, and evaluation of advanced AI models, making sure every answer is verifiable.

Requirements7

  • 1Holds a bachelor's degree or equivalent real-world experience in finance, economics, business analytics, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field.
  • 2Brings at least two years of professional, academic, or research background in reading financial market data, risk metrics, or operational performance charts.
  • 3Can accurately parse chart components including axes, units, legends, scales, and annotations across a wide range of visual formats.
  • 4Explains analytical processes and quantitative reasoning in professional English, both in writing and on calls.
  • 5Has bilingual ability in a second language tied to finance or operations, which is a plus but not required.
  • 6Has worked with technical documentation, financial reporting, process quality assessments, or structured analytical tasks before.
  • 7Possesses a portfolio of prior data annotation, benchmark question generation, technical reports, or finance/operations analysis work.

Who Should Apply

The person we want can read a candlestick chart or a yield curve the way a copy editor reads a sentence: noticing structure, spotting issues, and getting to the underlying meaning in seconds. If that is you, you will enjoy turning those visuals into structured reasoning tasks with verifiable answers. This contract is not for someone who wants a collaborative daily standup with a broader product team; it is a focused solo-writing project with periodic feedback loops. Applications tend to fall short when candidates lack two years of chart-heavy experience or when their sample tasks rely on vague language instead of explicit calculations.

Salary Insight

The hourly rate is $25 to $50. The posting does not state a fixed figure inside that band, so the exact pay is part of your conversation with micro1.

Application Tip

Before you apply, build one short sample deliverable: select a financial or operational chart you know well, write a difficult multi-step question about it, and then solve it in writing with all units and formulas spelled out. Attach that sample or link it in your application, since it demonstrates the exact skill set micro1 needs to see.
