Overview

micro1 seeks Structured Finance Attorneys to bring their legal expertise to a customer's project. The work involves annotating and reviewing contracts tied to asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, and collateralized debt obligations. Your input helps train next-generation AI systems, so no AI background is needed. This is a remote contractor role with flexible, asynchronous collaboration.

What You'll Do7

  • Examine and annotate legal contracts and transaction documents for structured finance products, including ABS, MBS, and CDOs.
  • Draft or assess sample clauses, documents, and legal frameworks used in structured finance deals.
  • Give detailed feedback on hypothetical scenarios or AI-generated legal content for accuracy, sufficiency, and clarity.
  • Explain industry-specific terms, regulatory requirements, and common legal structures in structured finance.
  • Help build training datasets that mirror current legal standards and best practices.
  • Work asynchronously with platform coordinators and other subject matter experts to maintain high legal content standards.
  • Share insights on market practices, frequent pitfalls, and recent regulatory changes in structured finance.

Requirements7

  • JD or international equivalent, plus active admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience advising on structured finance transactions, including drafting and negotiating documents.
  • Solid grasp of securities law, regulatory compliance frameworks, and relevant market regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with precision in legal language.
  • Experience reviewing and commenting on financial legal documents such as prospectuses, term sheets, and offering memoranda.
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts for different audiences or technology uses.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical approach, and comfort working independently in a remote setting.

Who Should Apply

Attorneys with 5+ years in structured finance who have drafted and negotiated transaction documents and want to apply their knowledge to AI training. A JD, active bar admission, and a sharp eye for detail are essential. If you can explain complex legal structures clearly and work autonomously, this fits.
