Overview
Reunion Marketing builds platforms and AI products for automotive dealer clients, and this role sits across the full stack behind them: database schemas, APIs, and the interfaces strategists and dealers touch. You will work on the Altitude Intelligence platform and on live data across five marketing product lines that serve hundreds of dealerships. The team treats Claude Code and similar assistants as standard tools from prototype to production, yet a person still owns every change. Features include client dashboards, data services, and AI work such as chat, report generation, and agentic workflows built on large language models. The bar is simple: what ships must hold up in front of a client.
What You'll Do8
- Build features from the database schema and APIs through to the front end, with AI coding assistants in the workflow and production standards for testing, security, and multi-tenant data access.
- Set the team's day-to-day practice for Claude Code and similar tools: context files, project instructions, custom commands, agent review habits, and guardrails that keep generated code aligned with the architecture.
- Design AI product features such as chat, report generation, and agentic workflows, including retrieval, tool use, structured outputs, and evaluations that prove accuracy.
- Write automated tests and CI gates, and review code with the same scrutiny whether a person or an assistant wrote it.
- Monitor production systems, respond to incidents, track performance, and handle rollbacks when a release goes wrong.
- Evaluate build versus buy choices, weigh iteration speed against client-safe controls, and document where AI tooling helps and where it creates risk.
- Explain trade-offs to strategists and executives in plain terms, and defend a delayed release when shipping would put client trust at risk.
- Own features end to end, including the design decisions, proof of readiness, and evidence that each release is safe for client use.
Requirements7
- Six or more years in full-stack software engineering, with at least one year building production software where AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot formed a primary part of your workflow. Autocomplete alone does not satisfy this requirement.
- Strength across a modern web stack, for example TypeScript, React, Node.js or Python, and SQL, with a record of well-structured production systems rather than glue scripts.
- Deep hands-on work with AI coding assistants: structuring context for large codebases, writing project instructions and custom commands, running multi-step agent tasks, correcting generated code, and knowing when to write the code yourself.
- A shipped feature where an AI coding assistant did much of the build, plus the ability to explain how you directed the work, what the assistant got wrong, and how you caught the problem.
- Production debugging instincts across front end, back end, and data layer, with specific failures you fixed and a habit of adding instrumentation before making a guess.
- A record of owning the quality bar on a multi-team product, including incident response, a rollback of a bad release, and a delayed release you defended to stakeholders who wanted to ship.
- Strong written and architectural communication, with a one-page proposal that a strategist, another engineer, and a CTO can all read and answer.
Preferred Qualifications4
- Direct experience with Anthropic Claude, including the Claude API, tool use, and prompt caching
- Production LLM features: prompt design, structured outputs, tool use, retrieval, and evaluation
- Domain background in marketing analytics, SEO/SEM, paid media, local search, or answer-engine visibility
- Experience building a system of record that an organization runs on, not just a feature inside one
Who Should Apply
A senior full-stack engineer with 6+ years across TypeScript, React, Node.js or Python, and SQL, plus at least a year shipping production software with Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot as a core workflow tool. You can walk through an AI-assisted feature, debug production failures, and defend a delayed release when client trust depends on it.
Salary Insight
The posting lists $85.00 to $90.00 per hour for a freelance engagement. For a senior full-stack contract role that includes AI-assisted delivery and production ownership, that range matches the experience bar described in the listing.
