Overview
Senior FreeCAD Engineer who can work remotely on a contractor basis for a client project. You’ll produce parametric CAD models in FreeCAD, assemble components, and apply GD&T and DFM to ensure designs are manufacturable. You’ll also create precise technical drawings and help QA verify model and drawing accuracy, with Python scripting as a preferred automation aid. Your domain knowledge supports training next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality, real-world CAD data.
What You'll Do7
- 1Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to meet project specs.
- 2Build and refine mechanical assemblies with solid component integration and clear interface definitions.
- 3Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and Design for Manufacturing principles to ensure producible parts.
- 4Produce precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering reviews and downstream use.
- 5Perform engineering QA reviews to identify issues in CAD models and drawings and guide fixes.
- 6Optionally use Python scripting to automate repetitive CAD tasks and improve modeling efficiency.
- 7Offer constructive feedback on design intent, model accuracy, and process improvements.

- 12+ years in mechanical engineering, product design, or industrial engineering with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
- 2Advanced proficiency with FreeCAD or another parametric CAD tool.
- 3Strong understanding of GD&T and DFM best practices for manufacturability.
- 4Proven ability to generate thorough technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- 5Experience performing engineering QA, verifying models against specifications.
