- 1Commission and deploy multiple network security and firewall solutions.
- 2Integrate firewall platforms with management and authentication tools including email, Active Directory, IAM, and SIEM.
- 3Administer policies and exceptions across several firewall consoles.
- 4Carry out packet capture, analysis, and troubleshooting across all layers of the OSI model.
- 5Manage incident, problem, service request, change, configuration, and capacity processes.
- 6Use network monitoring tools to isolate events and support incident analysis.
- 7Run daily performance checks, periodic audits, and compliance reviews.
- 8Design and implement network security solutions for DC/DR/Cloud and branch office environments.
- 9Coordinate with OEMs for TAC support, RMA, replacement, and reconfiguration.
- 10Guide, lead, and mentor the L1 engineers team.
- 11Produce technical documentation, SOPs, run books, and as-built network diagrams.
- 12Automate and integrate tools using REST API/SDK with security dashboards.
Requirements8
- 13 to 7 years of experience in network security engineering.
- 2At least 3 years of hands-on work with multiple firewall solutions such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Checkpoint, and Fortigate.
- 3Proficiency in troubleshooting and packet analysis using Wireshark or Pcap, not just monitoring.
- 4Experience working in Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
- 5Knowledge of integrating with AD, IDAM, PAM, SIEM, and SOAR tools.
- 6Expertise in designing solutions for DC, DR, and Cloud environments.
- 7Strong conceptual understanding of network security and OSI model layers.
- 8Exceptional communication skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Who Should Apply
Candidates with 3 to 7 years in network security, including at least 3 years of direct firewall administration on Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, or Fortigate, will fit well. The role suits someone who has moved beyond monitoring into packet-level troubleshooting with Wireshark or Pcap and who has designed security for DC, DR, and cloud setups. Experience integrating firewalls with AD, IAM, SIEM, or SOAR is important, as is comfort working in Windows, Linux, and Unix. This position is less suitable for engineers who have only watched dashboards or who lack hands-on firewall commissioning and policy management experience. Candidates without exposure to OEM coordination or mentoring L1 staff may also score lower on fit.
