This full-time remote role puts you at the center of keeping large, mission-critical PostgreSQL deployments stable and fast. You will architect and maintain highly available database setups on AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, tune query performance, and design disaster recovery plans. What You'll Do7
- 1Architect and build resilient PostgreSQL environments on AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, focusing on high availability.

- 3Design backup, replication, and failover procedures that keep disaster recovery ready at all times.
- 4Track down slow queries, locks, deadlocks, and other blockers in large-scale production databases.
- 5Automate database maintenance and operational tasks so environments stay stable without manual toil.
- 6Partner with engineering teams on new features, data migrations, and scaling plans.
- 7Maintain clear system documentation and communicate status, risks, and decisions openly.
Requirements7
- 15+ years managing and tuning PostgreSQL in production environments.
- 2Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, including query planning, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
- 3Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL, especially backup, recovery, and high-availability design.
- 4Proven skill in diagnosing slow queries, reading execution plans, and resolving locks or deadlocks.
- 5Experience running and supporting large, high-traffic databases containing millions of rows.
- 6Clear written and verbal communication, plus the ability to work alone or with a distributed team.
- 7Familiarity with data platforms, ETL, Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud-native monitoring is a plus.
