What You'll Do5
- 1Critically assess physics research papers for correctness, novelty, and impact.
- 2Create and review challenging physics problems used to train and benchmark AI models.
- 3Evaluate model outputs across tasks like analytical derivation, mechanism prediction, numerical modeling, experimental design, and literature reasoning.
- 4Identify and document blind spots where current models fail — especially errors a working PhD physicist would catch.
- 5Work tightly with a small program team and a cohort of senior contributors.
Requirements5
- 1First-author or co-first-author publications in leading journals such as Physical Review Letters, Nature Physics, Journal of High Energy Physics, or equivalent.
- 2A doctorate or postdoctoral training from a top-20 global institution in physics or a related STEM field.
- 3A competitive fellowship (e.g., NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, Hertz Fellowship, Sloan Research Fellowship, or similar).
- 4Current or recent active research role — as a PhD candidate, postdoc, faculty member, principal scientist, or industry researcher.
- 5Outstanding senior PhD students and recent graduates with a strong publication record are strongly encouraged to apply.
