Overview
micro1 seeks UK-based Personal Finance Experts to support a client project on household financial workflows and advisory tasks. You will apply your domain knowledge to train next-generation AI systems, helping models learn how to reason about ISAs, pensions/SIPPs, mortgages, and HMRC Self Assessment. No AI experience is needed. Your deep background in banking, wealth management, accounting, or tax planning is what matters. This remote contractor role pays $90 to $110 per hour.
What You'll Do6
- 1Work through real personal finance tasks like reviewing transactions, building budgets, and organizing accounts using securely connected UK bank accounts with all personally identifiable information removed.
- 2Provide expert guidance on UK-specific topics such as ISAs, pensions/SIPPs, mortgages, savings, and HMRC Self Assessment, writing clear and concise explanations.
- 3Evaluate AI-generated financial advice against set rubrics and give actionable feedback to improve model performance and reliability.
- 4Review financial documentation to show how UK consumers and their advisers handle filing deadlines, account types, and financial decisions.
- 5Help develop and refine evaluation rubrics and grading criteria for personal finance outputs.
- 6Keep up with regulatory changes in UK personal tax, pension, and savings legislation that affect project deliverables.
Requirements7
- 1Formal education in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (degree or equivalent).
- 24+ years of hands-on experience in personal finance roles focused on UK household matters, including ISAs, pensions/SIPPs, mortgages, and Self Assessment.
- 3Professional background in banking, wealth management, financial advising/planning, accountancy, or tax planning, or experience running your own advisory or tax practice.
- 4Current residence in the United Kingdom with active UK-based personal or business bank accounts.
- 5Professional credentials such as CFP, DipPFS, FCA-authorised IFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA, or ATT. Additional designations like CFA or CTP are a strong plus.
- 6Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial topics into accessible language.
- 7Experience with rubric-based evaluation or model output review in AI or related fields is desirable but not required.
Who Should Apply
This role suits UK-based finance professionals with at least four years of hands-on experience in personal finance, especially those holding credentials like CFP, DipPFS, ACA, ACCA, CTA, or ATT. You should be comfortable writing clear explanations about ISAs, pensions, mortgages, and HMRC Self Assessment. The ideal candidate has worked in banking, wealth management, financial advising, accountancy, or tax planning, and can critique AI-generated advice against rubrics. If you lack UK residency or active UK bank accounts, you will not pass the initial screen. Also, candidates who cannot demonstrate deep familiarity with UK-specific financial products and regulations often score low on fit, even if they have general finance experience.
