Listing checked September 29, 2026 · pay as published by SME Careers
Overview
Remote, hourly contractor role for a Finance & Accounting SME focused on rubric design, with hands-on work in excel and sql. You will craft realistic finance tasks and evaluate AI-driven outputs using precise criteria and professional judgment, shaping how complex financial work is assessed. Rubric design sits at the core as you specify calculations, assumptions, materiality, and reasoning across domains like accounting, corporate finance, and valuation. You will build reference content and assessment materials to support RLHF and SFT training for leading AI models.
What You'll Do9
- 1Create professional finance tasks spanning accounting, valuation, investment analysis, and audit, ensuring each prompt requires sound judgment and realistic data.
- 2Design scoring rubrics that specify calculations, assumptions, reasoning steps, materiality thresholds, and professional presentation.
- 3Evaluate AI-generated analyses for accuracy, methodology, logic, and completeness to identify gaps and improve scoring reliability.
- 4Assess professional judgment to verify assumptions are reasonable, well-supported, and aligned with industry standards.
- 5Identify material errors in calculations, accounting treatment, valuation logic, financial interpretation, or risk analysis.
- 6Critique peer rubrics for ambiguities, missing components, and potential biases to refine evaluation criteria.
- 7Develop reference content including model solutions, explanations, and critiques to bolster training materials.
- 8Support AI training initiatives by generating tasks, rubrics, evaluations, and reference-answer pairs for RLHF and SFT pipelines.
- 9Maintain professional standards and finance conventions across all outputs.
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, business, applied mathematics, or a related field.
- 2Strong professional certifications such as cpa, cfa, acca, aca, cma, frm are strongly preferred where applicable.
- 3Proficient English skills at c1 level or higher.
- 43+ years of experience in finance, accounting, investment analysis, corporate finance, financial reporting, audit, consulting, risk, or related fields.
- 5Solid knowledge of professional methodologies, calculations, assumptions, and analytical standards relevant to finance specialties.
- 6Ability to craft realistic finance tasks that require judgment rather than simple recall.
- 7Strong capability to design detailed rubrics covering accuracy, methodology, assumptions, materiality, reasoning quality, and presentation.
- 8Ability to distinguish calculation errors, methodological errors, unsupported assumptions, and reasonable professional differences.
- 9Experience critiquing rubrics created by other finance or accounting experts.
- 10Experience with training, examination writing, audit review, investment committee review, financial QA, or research review is preferred.
- 11Prior exposure to AI evaluation, model benchmarking, annotation, RLHF, or rubric-based scoring is preferred.
Who Should Apply
Candidates who hold a relevant degree and at least 3 years of finance or accounting experience, plus professional certifications, are a strong fit. Look for demonstrated ability to translate complex financial judgment into structured scoring criteria and rubrics. Ideal applicants can critique AI-generated outputs and rubrics with precision and provide well-supported justifications. This role suits those who work well independently in a remote setting and can deliver high-detail rubric content on schedule. It is less suitable for individuals lacking direct experience with finance standards (IFRS/us gaap) or those uncomfortable generating evaluative criteria for professional tasks.
