PE / M&A Document Sourcing Expert | Remote
Overview
This role is perfect for finance professionals with deep experience in private equity, M&A, or investment banking who want to put their domain expertise to work training next-generation AI systems. You'll source and vet real-world transaction documents—like Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs) and Share Purchase Agreements (SPAs)—ensuring they are legally shareable and free from confidential or proprietary restrictions. No AI background is needed; your financial knowledge is what drives the quality of the training data.
What You'll Do6
- 1Identify and procure eligible financial deal documents, including CIMs, SIMs, Investment Committee Memos, SPAs, PE board decks, PPMs, and management presentations, ensuring they meet compliance standards.
- 2Verify that every submitted document is free from NDA protections, material non-public information (MNPI) , or any proprietary restrictions before passing it along for AI training use.
- 3Log detailed metadata for each document—such as transaction type, industry, deal structure, and origin—to maintain a clear audit trail and support compliance tracking.
- 4Classify documents based on their transaction structure and financial context to help AI models learn from correctly labeled data.
- 5Collaborate with compliance and operations teams to refine sourcing guidelines, clarify document eligibility, and streamline the submission workflow.
- 6Exercise professional judgment to distinguish between publicly available and restricted financial information, and engage in professional negotiations around document availability and compensation.
Requirements5
- 1Proven experience in private equity, investment banking, M&A, capital markets, transaction advisory, corporate development, or similar deal-driven finance roles.
- 2Hands-on familiarity with a broad range of transaction documents—acquired through real deal execution or advisory work—and the ability to identify which materials are eligible for external use.
- 3Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing, validating, and classifying financial documents, combined with strong organizational skills for tracking metadata and maintaining precise records.
- 4Comfort working independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment where priorities can shift quickly, and a steadfast commitment to providing only compliant, eligible documents.
- 5Preferred: experience sourcing documents from SEC EDGAR, M&A filings, investor portals, bankruptcy courts, or licensed financial data providers, and familiarity with document-intensive workflows in financial institutions, advisory firms, or law practices.
Who Should Apply
We're looking for finance professionals who live and breathe deal documentation—whether you've worked on the buy-side, sell-side, or in advisory. You're meticulous, understand the legal boundaries around confidential information, and can operate autonomously in a remote setting. If you have a track record of sourcing and vetting transaction materials, this is a great way to apply your expertise to cutting-edge AI training.
