Overview

Handshake AI hires neurologists for part-time contract work that improves how AI models handle clinical reasoning. You bring hands-on experience in stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, and neurocritical care, then use it to judge model output against current practice. Projects open through the year across different specialties, and each one runs on your schedule with no minimum hours. You can keep your current role while you take on tasks that fit your expertise.

What You'll Do6

  • Build expert-level neurology tasks that probe where current AI models fail, using real workflows such as neurologic examination, localization, differential diagnosis, neuroimaging review, EEG interpretation, acute stroke care, and treatment planning.
  • Score AI responses for clinical accuracy, patient safety, and fit with current neurology guidelines.
  • Write clear, structured feedback that points to errors, gaps, and unsafe advice in model output.
  • Apply subspecialty depth in stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, neurocritical care, neuroimmunology, cognitive and behavioral neurology, headache medicine, or neuro-oncology when a project calls for it.
  • Work on a remote, asynchronous basis and set your own hours, with no minimum hour requirement.
  • Take on projects that open through the year and match your clinical background.

Requirements8

  • Completed MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree plus residency training in neurology.
  • Active license to practice medicine in the United States.
  • US work authorization.
  • Working knowledge in one or more areas: stroke and vascular neurology, epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology with EEG or EMG, neurocritical care, neuromuscular disease and movement disorders, neuroimmunology including multiple sclerosis, cognitive and behavioral neurology including dementia, headache medicine, or neuro-oncology.
  • Strong written communication and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain complex neurologic concepts in plain language.
  • Ability to work on your own in a remote, asynchronous setting.
  • Board certification, board eligibility, or fellowship training in a neurology subspecialty strengthens an application.

Who Should Apply

The role suits a practicing neurologist with an active US license who wants part-time, project-based work alongside clinical duties. Subspecialty depth in stroke, epilepsy, neurocritical care, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, or a related area helps, as does board certification or fellowship training.

Salary Insight

The listing quotes $180.00 per hour for this part-time contract role. That figure applies to project-based work with no minimum hours, so your earnings depend on how many tasks you choose and the projects that open through the year.
