What You'll Do8

  • 1Build and maintain comprehensive evaluation frameworks for AI agents working in legal contexts, including benchmark suites, scoring rubrics, and protocols.
  • 2Conduct original research on legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and workflow automation to advance AI capability.
  • 3Create and curate datasets, real-world case studies, and benchmark environments that mirror genuine legal challenges.
  • 4Work closely with AI researchers and engineers to test and improve legal-focused models and agentic systems.
  • 5Analyze model outputs for reasoning quality, pinpoint failure modes, and identify areas for improvement across legal use cases.
  • 6Document and share internal research findings, best practices, and evaluation methodologies.
  • 7Keep up to date with developments in legal technology, jurisprudence, regulatory changes, and AI research.
  • 8Help set industry-leading standards for evaluating and benchmarking legal AI systems.

Requirements9

  • 1An advanced law degree (JD, LLM, SJD, PhD in Law, or equivalent).
  • 2Deep expertise in at least one legal domain such as corporate law, contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment law, or public policy.
  • 3Proven ability to conduct structured legal research, analysis, or policy work.
  • 4Experience designing methodologies for assessing legal arguments, outcomes, or research quality.
  • 5Exceptional analytical reasoning and clear written communication.
  • 6Collaborative experience working across interdisciplinary teams involving research, technology, or legal operations.
  • 7Familiarity with legal technology, AI-enabled legal workflows, or legal operations (preferred).
  • 8Background in legal benchmarking, legal research methodology, or legal knowledge management (preferred).
  • 9Published legal scholarship, policy research, or contributions to legal standards (preferred).

Salary Insight
