Member of Technical Staff, AI/ML Engineering | $160-$300/hr Remote
Overview
This role is for an experienced AI/ML engineer who wants to build and deploy production-grade systems powered by large language models. You'll work closely with a tight-knit team to architect scalable solutions that turn complex quantitative concepts into real-world products. If you thrive on bridging the gap between advanced math and cloud-native engineering, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions centered around LLMs, using Python and AWS infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
- 2Architect scalable APIs and microservices with FastAPI, creating robust endpoints that handle high-throughput requests.
- 3Integrate LangChain and other advanced AI frameworks to enable sophisticated model chaining and multi-step reasoning.
- 4Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex problems from math, statistics, or physics into actionable engineering plans.
- 5Apply core quantitative reasoning to improve model interpretability, accuracy, and overall system reliability.
- 6Uphold high code quality through thorough documentation, peer reviews, and adherence to best practices in a fast-moving core team.
- 7Clearly communicate technical progress and decisions through written updates and verbal discussions.
Requirements7
- 1An advanced degree or equivalent deep expertise in mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related quantitative field.
- 2Expert-level proficiency in Python for AI/ML development, from prototyping to production deployment.
- 3Hands-on experience deploying, fine-tuning, and integrating LLMs into real-world applications.
- 4Strong command of AWS services and cloud-native workflows for machine learning pipelines.
- 5Proven track record using LangChain for chaining models and orchestrating complex reasoning tasks.
- 6Solid ability to build scalable APIs with FastAPI and microservices architecture.
- 7Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to varied audiences.
Who Should Apply
We're looking for an engineer who combines a strong quantitative foundation with hands-on AI/ML engineering skills. You enjoy turning abstract mathematical ideas into practical, scalable systems and are comfortable owning the full lifecycle of LLM-powered features. If you have a bias for action, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to work with cutting-edge tools like LangChain and FastAPI, this role is for you.
Salary Insight
The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $200,000 to $260,000 USD. In addition, you'll receive equity compensation, performance-based bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package including up to 100% health-insurance premium reimbursement, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match.
Required Skills
Application Tip
When applying, include a link to a GitHub repo or a detailed case study that showcases an LLM-based project you've shipped to production. Highlight how you addressed challenges like latency, cost, or model drift, and mention any use of LangChain or FastAPI.
