Medical Communications Manager

Overview
micro1 seeks Medical Communications Managers to support a customer project building AI tools for medical communications and HCP engagement. You will author and review evaluation tasks based on medical education modules, advisory board summaries, and scientific slide decks. Your domain knowledge in medical writing and regulatory compliance will directly shape how AI models learn and reason. No AI experience is needed. This is a remote contractor role.
What You'll Do6
- 1Create and assess realistic evaluation tasks drawn from medical education modules, advisory board summaries, scientific slide decks, HCP materials, and digital medical web content.
- 2Judge whether AI-generated medical communications content meets scientific accuracy standards, fair balance rules, and audience-appropriate framing for HCPs versus patients.
- 3Evaluate tone, strategic messaging, clarity, and visual presentation logic in slide decks and educational assets to ensure complex science is communicated without oversimplification.
- 4Trace claims, infographics, and slide statements back to underlying scientific literature, trial data, and clinical summaries to verify source data fidelity.
- 5Provide clear, structured written feedback that explains model successes and deficiencies to help engineers tune performance.
- 6Work with project leads to establish benchmarks, quality rubrics, and evaluation frameworks for MedComms content generation.
Requirements7
- 1At least 5 years in Medical Communications, Medical Education (MedEd), or Medical Affairs within a specialized agency, biotech/pharma sponsor, or consultancy.
- 2Hands-on experience producing a range of MedComms deliverables such as scientific slide decks, advisory board summaries, medical education modules, and web/digital content.
- 3Solid grasp of medical affairs strategy, scientific platform alignment, and regulatory/compliance constraints for HCP and patient communications.
- 4Ability to review visual and textual content holistically, balancing data integrity with audience engagement.
- 5Exceptional written communication skills, including structured critique and editorial guidance.
- 6Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine (PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc) or equivalent industry experience.
- 7Broad therapeutic exposure; oncology, neurology, or cardiology experience is a plus.
Who Should Apply
This role fits candidates with a strong background in medical communications, medical education, or medical affairs who have spent at least five years creating and reviewing scientific content for HCPs and patients. You should be comfortable tracing claims back to primary literature and giving detailed written feedback. The role is less suitable for those without direct MedComms deliverable experience or who lack familiarity with regulatory and compliance constraints. A common reason candidates get rejected is not having authored or reviewed a mix of slide decks, advisory board summaries, and digital content. Another is providing vague feedback rather than specific, structured critique tied to source data.
