It Support Specialist Contractor Remote with 3+ Years IT Experience
Overview
An experienced IT professional is invited to work as a contractor on a remote project. You’ll apply your hardware and software know-how across Windows, Mac, and Linux to troubleshoot real-world issues and document your steps in ITSM tickets. The role supports non-technical users with clear guidance and helps feed AI training data with well-structured incident details and scenario-based examples. You’ll contribute written and verbal feedback asynchronously from a remote setting and help improve model learning through precise input. Key areas include networking basics, incident documentation, and user-focused communication.
What You'll Do7
- 1Diagnose and fix common hardware and software problems across Windows, Mac, and Linux systems in everyday scenarios.
- 2Record detailed incident notes, troubleshooting actions, and final resolutions in a ticketing system with clarity.
- 3Apply TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN knowledge to address connectivity and configuration issues.
- 4Provide patient, step-by-step guidance to non-technical users, ensuring they understand each action.
- 5Create scenario-based examples and process documentation that reflect IT support best practices.
- 6Capture input and feedback for AI training and model refinement to improve learning outcomes.
- 7Work asynchronously in a remote engagement, delivering clear written and verbal feedback.
Requirements7
- 1At least 3 years of Tier 2/3 IT support experience across varied OS and network environments.
- 2Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues and identify root causes.
- 3Experience documenting technical incidents and resolutions in ITSM or similar ticketing platforms.
- 4Excellent written and verbal communication skills focused on helping non-technical users.
- 5Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL Foundation are beneficial.
- 6Track record of contributing to technical process documentation and knowledge bases.
- 7Independent, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable with remote project work.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate brings solid hands-on IT support across Windows, Mac, and Linux, plus networking basics. You should thrive in a remote, asynchronous setup and be comfortable documenting your work for AI training. This role may not be a fit for someone without several years of Tier 2/3 experience or who dislikes detailed ticketing and process documentation. Common reasons for a lower fit include limited cross-platform troubleshooting experience or weak written communication skills.
