Overview

Senior technology leads will guide a remote, contractor-based initiative focused on technology management and project leadership. You’ll plan and execute a limited-scope program, coordinate with an external vendor, and communicate progress to diverse stakeholders over multiple quarters. This role centers on domain expertise to train real-world AI systems by shaping how models learn and perform, without requiring prior AI experience. Expect hands-on vendor oversight, strong team coordination, and clear reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Vendor management, project planning, and stakeholder reporting are key to success.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Develop detailed project plans that specify timelines, deliverables, and resource needs for focused technology initiatives.
  • 2Oversee external vendor activities and ensure SLAs are met through regular check-ins and performance tracking.
  • 3Coach project participants to collaborate effectively, address conflicts, and maintain momentum toward milestones.
  • 4Track progress, surface risks early, and drive timely decisions to keep the initiative on track.
  • 5Produce concise status updates and risk reports for executives and technical stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.
  • 6Ensure high-quality outcomes across all project phases by aligning work with defined scope and constraints.
  • 7Provide practical insights to improve AI model training using technology management scenarios.

Requirements7

  • 16+ years managing long-running technology programs with end-to-end ownership, including planning, vendor coordination, and outcomes delivery
  • 2Proven leadership in guiding cross-functional teams and resolving conflicts within complex projects
  • 3Demonstrated success in vendor management and negotiations with external tech providers
  • 4Experience setting up, monitoring, and reporting on SLAs and vendor performance
  • 5Excellent written and spoken communication, with the ability to simplify progress updates for varied audiences
  • 6Ability to produce clear, actionable project docs and executive-level reports
  • 7Background contributing to process improvements or technology adoption decisions

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate brings at least six years of experience running multi-quarter tech initiatives with hands-on vendor oversight. You should excel at coordinating teams, negotiating with external providers, and translating complex progress into clear updates for stakeholders. This role suits someone who can maintain quality across defined scope while guiding participants through collaboration and conflict resolution. It is less suitable for someone without a track record in vendor management or without experience delivering executive-friendly reports. Candidates who struggle to demonstrate SLA governance or multi-stakeholder communication are likely to score lower on fit.
